The Raptors head into tonight trying to put together their first real win streak of the season. The past 2 games have been great to build on but it takes 3 in a row to call it a win streak. These are the games this team has to win in order to stay on par with the rest of the East and give themselves a chance to reach the playoffs.
Minnesota struggled to start the season, partially due to injuries but for the most part they are a young team in a tough conference. They have been playing well as of late and the Raptors have to be careful not to take them too lightly. Bosh (apparently battling a cold) has his work cut out for him going up against Al Jefferson who is still a little banged up and Bargnani (sore ankle) will have a challenge as Kevin Love is a player who will come out to the perimeter to guard him. Rookie DeMar DeRozan has been playing well over the last 3 games and this would be a good test to see if he can keep up his strong play at home. Overall this is a must win game if there was any this early in the season and the Raptors need to protect their home court.
There will be extra excitement in the building tonight as the team debut’s the Toronto Huskies jerseys as part of the hardwood classics series. Each year a few NBA teams get to do this and I guess the Raptors finally have enough history to have anything be called a classic. I am live blogging from my seats tonight and will pull in tweets from fans tweeting about the game. Feel free to leave your comments as the game progresses. Enjoy!
